To become a probationary member, you must have the following minimal training:
Dispatcher:
- American Red Cross Community First Aid & Safety
- Professional Level CPR
Medic:
- NYS Emergency Medical Technician
- Professional Level CPR
Driver:
- NYS Certified First Responder
- Professional Level CPR
ALS Tech:
- NYS EMT-I, EMT-CC, or EMT-P
- Professional Level CPR
If you do not have the necessary training, courses are offered and will be discussed upon completion of your application.

On receipt of your completed application, reference and background checks will be done. This process takes approximately two weeks and you will then be contacted to set up an interview. Your application will be formally presented to the Board of Directors for probationary membership once any required certification training is completed and you are ready to dispatch or medic train. Drivers must posess a valid New York State Drivers License, clear as second medics and complete 50 hours as a medic before beginning driver training.

If you are accepted as a probationary member, the following general requirements are expected of you:
Training:
~ All certifications must be kept current for your level of training.
~ You must complete appropriate SVA training for your position(s).
Hours:
~ 30 hours of service every 3 consecutive months must be maintained.
Age:
~ Dispatcher / Medic: 18 years
~ Driver: 21 years

Applicants will be on a minimum six months probation. The probationary member may be terminated if training progress is not satisfactory. General conduct, appearance, performance, and attendance at General Membership meetings are held the third Monday of January, March, May, July, September, and November at 7:30pm.
You must include a copy of your certification cards, Driver's License, and the $2.00 application fee for your application to be processed.
